Chimney stacks take the full force of the coastal weather. Over time the mortar crumbles, pots work loose, the flaunching on top cracks and the lead flashing around the base fails, and water finds its way in.

We repoint stacks, re-bed chimney pots, renew flaunching and lead flashings, and rebuild stacks that are too far gone to repair.

Chimney Cowls & Vents

A cowl on top of the pot keeps rain, birds and debris out of the flue and can stop smoke blowing back down into the room. Chimneys that are no longer used still need ventilating to stop damp building up inside the breast.

We supply and fit chimney cowls and vents to suit whether the fireplace is in use or capped off.

How much do chimney repairs cost?

It depends on the work needed and how the stack can be reached safely. Repointing and re-bedding a pot is a much smaller job than rebuilding a stack, and most chimney work needs scaffolding or other access equipment.
