Slate Roofs

Natural slate is the traditional roof across much of Scarborough and the Yorkshire coast. It's hard-wearing, handles the weather well and suits both period and newer homes.

We strip the old covering, check and repair the timbers and battens, fit a new breathable membrane, and lay new slate with the ridges, hips and leadwork finished to match.

Tile Roofs

Concrete and clay tiles are a reliable, cost-effective roof covering for many homes. When a tiled roof reaches the end of its life, patching it only goes so far.

We carry out full re-roofs with quality concrete and clay tiles, fitted to the manufacturer's standards for long-lasting weather protection.

GRP Fibreglass Flat Roofing

GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) is a seamless fibreglass system for flat roofs on extensions, garages, dormers and bay windows. With no joints to fail, it gives a watertight, low-maintenance finish.

We replace worn felt and failed flat roofs with GRP, including the decking underneath where it needs it.

How much does a new roof cost?

It depends on the size and shape of the roof, the material you choose, the condition of the timbers underneath, and the scaffolding needed. A garage flat roof and a full slate re-roof on a terrace are very different jobs.
